did he ever file for unemployment?
without medical insurance he's pretty much screwed, but id suggest trying some herbs and vitimans, there is vitamins to solve everything now a days.

Yes, it is called college, or trade school. He might consider learning a job that uses his head, instead of his back. He can be an estimator, instead of framer. Use your head!
